Since we’re cooped-up at home, Shawn & I decided to take some online courses on Udemy. The first one I completed was an Adobe Illustrator Essentials course & I LOVED it. I have been a Photoshop hacker for about 15 years now, and have always wanted to learn Illustrator. The Essentials course BLEW. MY. MIND. and made me realize how much time I have wasted trying to do things the ‘long way’ in Photoshop!
I am now halfway through the Advanced Training Course for Illustrator. Below is a poster I designed after taking a class on putting text type into the shape of a letter. As I was taking the class, I couldn’t help but find myself daydreaming about how I could utilize this new design skill for our song lyrics! As soon as the class was over, I started working away at this design for our song Crossroads, and inserted the entirety of the lyrics into the chorus “I am at a crossroads.” It was very time-consuming, but I really love the finished product! It’s a bit 80’s fab, and who knows? Maybe we’ll end up putting it up on our Flagship Romance merch store?
